  11. The Crimson Box is very simple device

  81. Ok. The '/\/\/' is the resistor. And

  83. '1 2 3' is the switch where the numbers

  85. are the poles on the switch. Notice you

  87. leave the black and yellow wires alone.

  89. You DO NOT cut them!

  93. Strip the red and green wires so you've

  95. got about an inch of bare wire. Solder
  96.  
  97. some of the extra wire and follow the
  98.  
  99. schematic. You should have the resistor
  100.  
  101. on the green wire with an extra piece

  103. of wire coming from one leg of it. The
  104.  
  105. other leg goes to the other end of the
  106.  
  107. green wire. You should solder the green
  108.  
  109. wire to the left pole of the switch and
  110.  
  111. the red to the middle and the other
  112.  
  113. end of the red to the right pole.

  117. Now, lift up the phone. If all you get
  118.  
  119. is an annoying buzz then throw the
  120.  
  121. [switch and you should get a dial tone.

  123. If not, don't worry and just follow the

  125. instructions and schematic again.
